Within the GH SAFE project, Engreen will lead the assessment of social acceptance and stakeholder engagement, ensuring that green hydrogen technologies are developed with the needs and realities of local communities at their core.
Recognising that successful deployment requires more than technological excellence, Engreen works closely with local partners and communities across Africa to understand how green hydrogen solutions can best support rural and off-grid areas. Through surveys, interviews, workshops, and participatory engagement activities, the company will gather valuable insights into community perceptions, expectations, opportunities, and potential barriers to adopting green hydrogen technologies. This exercise will help further the TRL level of the GH-SAFE technology.
The findings generated through these engagement processes will help the GH-SAFE consortium adapt technical solutions to local social, economic, and institutional contexts, ensuring that future deployment pathways are both technically viable and socially accepted.
As part of its responsibilities, Engreen is also leading the development of the project’s Green Hydrogen Social Acceptance exercise, which will provide evidence-based recommendations to guide future implementation and replication of green hydrogen initiatives across Africa.
